Successful bracket racing is about having the quickest reaction time and being consistent, whether you're driving a nitro-burning funny car or a 1992 Chevrolet Caprice wagon with 180 hp at the crank. Sometimes, the wagon is all you have, so off you go.

This week on /BIG MUSCLE, a mishap with one of the show's subject cars leads Mike Musto and crew, Thaddeus Brown and Zack Klapman, to call an audible and take their "Battle Wagon" production transporter drag racing at Sonoma Raceway.

The 4,200-pound pegleg-burnout machine turns out to be quite a runner, if not in the quarter-mile-sense, in the "go big or go home" sense. And no one's going home. Even in a car wholly unsuited to a drag strip, the competitive spirit inevitably will take hold.
