Video: What's it Like to Drive a 900HP Evo In the Rain? - /TUNED

Our trip to to the bridge nation of Panama for /TUNED has been interesting so far. We tried to film a Skyline R34, but ended up with a School Bus modified for highway racing. Then, we got ourselves a bad ass fixer with what has to be one of the best modified and most sorted Suzuki Samurais in the entire world. What was missing from our trip was straight up, no bullshit, speed. The kind of speed that melts your face; the kind of speed that, after experiencing it, you simply cannot think; the kind of speed that translates into one and only one human response: uncontrollable laughter.

Welcome to Race Lab, home to some of Panama's fastest cars, and unquestionably, the country's wildest Mitsubishi Evolution. It started as a bone stock Evo 7, (though it now wears bodywork that's a combination of bits from the 8 and 9), but now that owner Gary Carbono's had his hands all up in it's biznass, this Evo is high in the running for fastest and scariest car I've ever driven.

Nine hundred horsepower. Fifty pounds of boost. A freakin' parachute. Oh yes, the gods of speed were smiling on me that day. However, they completely forgot to call off the gods of rain, who provided me with an inch of standing water on Panama's already terrible tarmac. This was going to be interesting.
